Last week I got to cover a story on Jewish Delis and I got to do some food photography. There are classes upon classes for food photography because dressing up food is quite a science and an art too. I remember last semester they had to shut down our school lab because the microwave caught on fire due to someone putting a tampon in there for too long. That sounds weird, but in reality a way to create steam coming out of the food in many pictures is to soak a tampon in water, heat it up for a bit and then hide it behind the food. Bet you didn’t know that.

Or I bet some of you preferred not to know that. You just want the final picture of steaming soup, eh?

I also had forgotten how much I love corned beef, and since I just fished a midterm that morning, I got to slow down a bit and enjoy lunch.
